Peetoom Helps Canada to Berth in FIFA World Youth Championship

SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras – Syracuse freshman defender Brad Peetoom helped the Canadian U-20 National Team to a 3-0 record at the CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament in Honduras. Peetoom and the Canadians will now compete in their third consecutive FIFA World Youth Championship from June 10 – July 2, 2005 in the Netherlands.
Peetoom played in on game of the Canadians three games, earning the start in a 1-0 shutout of Jamaica. Canada also defeated Mexico, 2-1, and Honduras, 1-0.
Peetoom finished his rookie season as SU’s leading scorer with four goals despite playing defense. He was one of three players on the team, all freshmen, to start all 17 games for the Orange.
