SU Held Scoreless at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J.- The Syracuse Orange was held scoreless Friday night losing to Rutgers, 1-0. Alicia Hall scored in the second minute of the game heading in a ball off a free kick opportunity.
SU was out shot in the contest, 7-3, getting two shots on goal. The Scarlet Knights held a 12-4 advantage in corner kick situations.
SU goalkeeper Emily Kowalczyk (Dayton, Ohio) had one save in the game, while allowing just one goal for the seventh time this season.
The Orange falls to 3-9-4 with the loss and has nine points in the BIG EAST placing them fourth in Division A. The top five finishers in each of the two divisions will qualify for the BIG EAST Tournament.
Syracuse will travel to play Seton Hall on Sunday. The game, originally scheduled for 1 p.m. at Owen T. Carroll Field at Seton Hall, has been moved due to poor field conditions. The Orange will take on the Pirates at 6 p.m. at Lubetkin Field on the campus of New Jersey Institute of Technology.
