SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Shelby Perkins, a member of the Orange cross country/track & field team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 17.

Perkins, who is from Binghamton, N.Y., has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll four times and has been a BIG EAST Academic All-Star twice.

Perkins ran the third best time on the team at Saturday’s National Open. She finished 11^th overall as the women’s team tied for 16^th out of 34 squads.

The Orange competes in the Reif Memorial on Friday, Oct. 21, before traveling to the BIG EAST Championships the following weekend.
