PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Redshirt freshman Pete Rowley (Reading, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll for the second time in 2005 on Monday, Oct. 24. The forward registered three points, including the game-winning goal to propel the Orange to a 2-1 triumph versus Louisville on Oct. 22.
Rowley notched the golden goal for the Orange in the 110th minute, scoring with 11 seconds remaining in the second overtime period. The tally marked his second golden goal of the season and it was his sixth score this season. Rowley also had a hand in SU’s first goal against the Cardinals, recording his first career assist on rookie Spencer Schomaker’s (Seattle, Wash.) first-half marker.
Rowley leads the Orange in goals (six) and points (13). Saturday night’s match was the second time this season he scored at least three points in a game. Rowley netted a season-high four points on two goals versus Providence on Sept. 23 on his way to his first honor roll selection.
The Orange will play its final road contest of the year on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Rutgers. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
