SU Cross Country "B" Squads Finish Third At UB Open

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Both the men’s and women’s cross country "B" squads placed third at yesterday’s UB Open in Buffalo. Sophomore Meghan Rowcliffe (19:50.1) was the top finisher for the women, finishing fifth overall, while sophomore Matthew Gervasio (27:30.7) placed ninth for the men.
Five women placed in the top 25 for SU. Sophomore Jillian Kosinsky finished 11th (20:52.9) while senior Gabrielle Charbonneau placed two spots behind her (21:16.8). Junior Kathryn Reintjes (21:50.3) and freshman Lindsey Morel (22:05.4) rounded out the top five.
For the men, junior Chris McDonald (27:59.5) followed Gervasio and finished in 17th. Junior Kevin Wong (28:00.6) finished right after him, and sophomores Matthew Cady (28:24.1) and Tim Waterhouse (28:43.3) rounded out the top five.
Buffalo won both sides of the race. Robert Morris placed in second on the men’s side while Niagara finished second in the women’s field.
SU competes next weekend when it travels to Penn State to run in the National Open on Saturday, Oct. 15.
