
Former Orange Men's Soccer Player Sees Action With Canadian World Cup Team

BARCELOS, Portugal - Former Orange standout Patrice Bernier was part of the Canadian World Cup Team that participated in an international friendly with Portugal on March 26. The Portuguese team was victorious, 4-1.
The match was the eighth for Bernier with the Canadian World Cup squad. The native of Montreal has played with the Canadian teams at the U-17, U-20, U-23 and World Cup levels.
Bernier is currently a member of Tromso in the Norwegian First Division. He played at SU in 1998 and 1999, racking up 12 goals and 10 assists for 34 points. He was a BIG EAST All-Rookie Team pick in 1998 and was selected to the All-BIG EAST First Team in 1999. He was also named all-region that season. He left SU after his sophomore season after signing with the Montreal Impact of the A-League.
