Senior Monica Joines was named the BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week after registering seven goals and one assist last week.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior co-captain Monica Joines (Whitehall, Md.) has been honored as the BIG EAST Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week on April 18. Joines scored eight points, netting seven goals and adding one assist, last week in Syracuse’s loss at No. 7 Dartmouth (13-8) and defeat of Boston College (11-4).
Joines tallied four goals in SU’s win against Boston College. She registered her 22nd career assist in the win, tying her for seventh with Stacey Brown on SU’s all-time list. She recorded three goals against Dartmouth. Four of her seven goals this week were scored off free-position shots.
Joines leads the Orange in goals this season with 32 goals, and is second on the team in scoring with 36 points.
SU continues BIG EAST play on Friday, April 22 when the Orange hosts Rutgers at 4:00 p.m.
