SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Cross Country coach Jay Hartshorn has announced that seniors John Graham and Chris Muldoon will be the 2005 cross country captains this Fall, while juniors Kelly Pimm and Katie Simon got the nod on the women’s side.
Graham consistently finished in SU’s top five and took top honors at the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational with a time of 26:44. He was named SU’s Most Improved Athlete in 2004. He finished 39th at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship and 26th at the IC4A Cross Country Championship.
Muldoon, the 2004 cross country Most Valuable Athlete, was the men’s top finisher in five of the six races he ran last year, including a 26th-place finish at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship in 24:51. He also paced the Orange at the NCAA Regional finishing in 22nd place in 31:47.6. He placed ninth at the IC4A Cross Country Championship with a time of 26:17. Muldoon finished 43rd at the highly competitive Great American Cross Country Festival in North Carolina.
Pimm showed consistent improvement during her sophomore season and was a constant contributor. She finished ninth at Binghamton with a time of 20:12 and helped the Orange to a first-place team finish at the Orange Classic with an 11th-place finish in 20:46.64. She was named SU’s Most Improved Athlete in 2004.
Simon was a consistent performer for the Orange in 2004. She finished 84th at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship with a time of 24:21. She finished 48th at the ECAC Cross Country Championship.Fran Brown Press Conference | Spring Ball Day 1
