Mark Takes Seventh in Triple Jump at NCAA Regional Meet

SU sophomore Sheron Mark recorded a jump of 12.77 meters (41’ 10.75”) to finish seventh in the triple jump at the at the 2005 NCAA Division I East Regional in Manhattan, NY. Mark, who was one of four SU student-athletes who qualified for the NCAA regional meet, is now included in the at-large group for consideration for the NCAA Championship meet. The top five student-athletes in each event and the best scores of the sixth through eighth place finishers from the four regional meets will advance to the championship in Sacramento, Calif., from June 8 to 11. Mark finished 17th in the long jump, leaping 5.76 meters (18’ 10 ¾”),
Freshman thrower Brittany Pryor finished 17th in the shot put with a distance of 13.76 meters (45’ 1.75”) and took seventh in the discus (47.74 meters, 156’ 7”). Pryor is included in the at-large group for consideration for the NCAA Championship meet in the discus.
In addition to Mark and Pryor, SU sophomore Aulton Kohn finished 18th in the preliminary of the 100 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 10.72 seconds and senior Valerij Petrulevich was 15th in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:51.60 at the NCAA Regional meet.
