Swimming and Diving Reunion Planned for Oct. 14-15

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Orange swimming and diving program is hosting a special reunion the weekend of Oct. 14-15, 2005. The event will honor the 1980 team, the school's first squad to capture a BIG EAST Conference Swimming and Diving Championship.
The festivities will kick off on Friday, Oct. 14, as the current Syracuse squad travels to nearby Hamilton, N.Y. for a dual meet against Colgate at 4 p.m. Back home on the SU campus, there are several varsity club events being held, including the Varsity Club Letterwinner of Distinction Dinner at the Schine Student Center. To sign up for the dinner, please call the Orange Pack Office at (315) 443-2054. Cocktails are at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Oct. 15, swimming and diving alums are invited to a football tailgate party at Ted Webster Pool that will begin approximately two hours before kickoff. The Syracuse football team plays Rutgers that day. The exact time has yet to be determined.
Finally, the main event will be the swim team's reunion party with special recognition going out to the 1980 team. The party will be held at the Inn Complete (located at Skytop) also known as the old ski lodge, beginning at 7 p.m. Dinosaur BBQ and other food will be provided, along with music and dancing.
Rooms are available at the Marx Hotel for this event. The "Swim Reunion Rate" is $109/night. Call (315) 479-7000 for reservations. Transportation to and from the airport, to campus, and to the game are provided by the Marx Hotel.
