Cross Country Competes At Cowboy Jamboree On Saturday

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Orange cross country team travels to Oklahoma State to run in the 69th annual Cowboy Jamboree. The meet features 68 junior colleges, colleges, and universities, and was added by head coach Chris Fox after his arrival.
The Orange last competed at the Binghamton Invitational, where the women placed second out of eight and the men finished fifth.
In that race, junior David Wishart finished fifth overall (26:01). Junior Matt Lawson (26:13) finished 21st in the field, while sophomore Kyle Heath (26:29) placed 26th. Junior Joseph Ziminsky (27:13) and sophomore Matthew Gervasio (27:25) rounded out the top five for the men.
The women placed six runners in the top 25. Following Cufari was freshman Nana Sang Bender (19:08) who finished 11th in her first collegiate race. Junior Shelby Perkins (19:24) finished just behind her in 13th, while sophomore Kathleen Sanborn (19:46) finished 16th. Junior Katie Simon (20:16) placed 20th in the race, while junior Candace Ince (20:22) placed 23rd.
The women begin at 9:10 a.m. followed by the men at 9:40 a.m.
