Orange Football to Kick Off 2006 Season at Wake Forest

The 2006 Syracuse University football home schedule includes Miami (OH), Iowa, Connecticut, Louisville and Pittsburgh, in addition to one more home date with an opponent to be determined. The Orange will open the campaign at Wake Forest, and will also face Illinois, Cincinnati, Rutgers, South Florida and West Virginia on the road. Game dates, times and television plans will be announced as soon as they are available.

Syracuse’s future schedules include non-conference opponents Washington, Iowa, Illinois, Buffalo and Miami (OH) in 2007. The following year SU will face Northwestern, Akron, Penn State and Notre Dame in non-league games, with one additional non-conference opponent to be added. In 2009 the Orange will play Akron, Penn State and Northwestern, while SU will face Washington, Akron and Virginia Tech in 2010, and Wake Forest, Washington and Virginia Tech in 2011. Syracuse has two additional non-BIG EAST games to schedule for 2009, 2010 and 2011.

The 2006 Syracuse team will begin Spring practice on Monday, March 20. The annual Spring game is set for Saturday, April 15.
