SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Ashley Lipton, a member of the Orange women’s tennis team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb.27.

Lipton, who hails from Saratoga, Calif., has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll four times and is a two-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star. She is a broadcast journalism major at Syracuse.

On the court, Lipton won a three-setter at flight five singles against Cornell, while earning doubles victories against both Army and Cornell to help the Orange to a pair of victories.

The Orange will next be in action on Friday when it hosts Cincinnati in its first BIG EAST dual of the season.
