The Carrier Dome has been the site of two Syracuse men's lacrosse games and the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament on this date during the past 25 years.
The Orange men's lacrosse team hosted Virginia on this date in 1995. Roy Colsey scored three goals and dished out two assists while Jim Morrissey had two goals and an assist in a 15-7 loss to the Cavaliers. SU goalkeeper Alex Rosier made 15 saves in the game.
In 1992, more than 6,000 fans came to watch SU take on Yale. Tom Marechek scored four goals, while Matt Riter had four goals and two assists in a 19-11 victory. Syracuse goalkeeper Chris Surran made 18 saves.
The Dome hosted the first and second round of the 1986 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Syracuse defeated Brown, 101-52, as Dwayne Washington scored 21 points in the victory. In other first-round action, Cleveland State defeated Indiana, 83-79, St. Joseph's defeated Richmond, 60-59, and Navy beat Tulsa, 87-65.
