Track and Field Heads To Maryland For Terrapin Invitational

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Syracuse track and field squad travels to the University of Maryland to compete in the 2006 Outdoor Terrapin Invitational on Saturday, April 1 at the Kehoe Track. Running events are slated to begin at 9:00 a.m. with the field events beginning an hour later.

Last week at the Raleigh Relays at NC State, junior Katie Simon (West Seneca, N.Y.) and classmate Matt Lawson (Homer City, Pa.), both finished third in the 5000m run. Simon finished with a time of 18:17.52 seconds while Lawson clocked in at 14:59.34.

Sophomore Elizabeth Cufari (Pittsford, N.Y.) placed fifth in the 1500m run with a time of 4:43.31 seconds. Sophomore Meghan Rowcliffe (Churchville, N.Y.) finished sixth in the 5000m at 18:27.46 seconds and classmate Kathleen Sanborn (Rutland, Vt.) took eighth place in the 1500m, clocking in at 4:37.04. Senior Chris Muldoon (Robesonia, Pa.) finished 10th in the 1500m at 4:01.47.
