Orange Hosts Syracuse Welcome Back Meet

The Syracuse Orange track and field team returns to action on Friday, January 12, hosting the Syracuse Welcome Back Meet. SU has been away from action since opening the season at the Cornell Relays on Dec. 2. The Orange welcome Alfred St., Cortland, RIT and Rochester to the Manely Field House for first meet of 2007.
In Syracuse's opening meet of the year, two Orange student-athletes earned player of the week recognition following the Cornell Relays. Senior Aulton Kohn earned ECAC Track Athlete of the Week accolades and classmate Dan Pribula was named the ECAC Field Athlete of the Week.

Kohn recorded a career-best in the 60m dash at the Cornell Relays, posting a time of 6.70. He set the Barton Hall record and posted a NCAA provisional mark and IC4A-qualifying mark. His time of 6.70 is .01 seconds shy of the school record set by Samuel Okantey in 1999 (6.69). Kohn has won the last two 55m dash titles at the IC4A Championship and the last two 60m titles at the BIG EAST Championship.
Pribula joined Kohn as a qualifier for the IC4A Championship. He placed second in the shot put with a qualifying distance of 16.13m. Last season, Pribula earned all-conference accolades in the shot at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championship and placed fifth at the IC4A Outdoor Championship. He also competed in the weight throw at the Cornell Relays, placing 13th with a distance of 14.03m.
One other Orange student-athlete also recorded an IC4A-qualfiying time. Sophomore Michael LeBlanc finished third in the 60m dash with a time of 6.92.
