Greene, Flynn Named To Collegehoops.net All-Freshman Team

SYRACUSE, NY -- Freshmen Donte' Greene and Jonny Flynn have been named to the Collegehoops.net All-Freshman Team. Greene was named to the five-man second team while Flynn was a third-team selection.
Greene was joined on the second team by Jerryd Bayless (Arizona), James Harden (Arizona State), Kyle Singler (Duke) and Patrick Patterson (Kentucky). Greene was a member of the 2007 USA Basketball Under-19 Team that won a silver medal at the World Championship. A prep standout at Towson Catholic High School (Md.), Greene earned First Team Parade All-America and Second Team All-USA Today and Hoop Scoop following his senior year. He earned McDonald's and Michael Jordan All-American recognition, as well.
Flynn headed the list of Collegehoops.net Third Team All-Freshman picks. Austin Freeman (Georgetown), Anthony Randolph (LSU), DeAndre Jordan (Texas A&M) and Kosta Koufos (Ohio State) were also named. Flynn was a teammate of Green's on the USA Basketball Under-19 squad. A scholastic star at Niagara Falls High School (N.Y.), Flynn was the Buffalo News Player of the Year two years in a row. A McDonald's High School All-American, Flynn also earned Parade and Hoop Scoop All-America laurels.
Syracuse conducts its first practice of the 2007-08 season on October 12. The club's first exhibition game is Sunday, November 4, at 2:00 p.m. The Orange open the regular season on Monday, November 12, against Siena in the Preseason NIT at the Carrier Dome.
