Syracuse student-athletes showed their holiday spirit this season, giving back to the community that has shown them so much support. The student-athletes participated in the Orange Miracle Food Drive and donated 627 pounds of food that was delivered to the Food Bank of Central New York.
Jillian Drouin, a member of the track & field squad, coordinated the food drive, setting up bins in the Stevenson Educational Center where student-athletes placed non-perishable items.
The Orange Miracle Food Drive is one of several community service projects student-athletes participate in during the year and was the second this month involving the Food Bank of Central New York. Members of the Syracuse football squad helped deliver turkeys to the food bank during the first week of December. During the fall semester, Orange student-athletes devoted more than 900 hours to the surrounding community and beyond.
