Goodwin Earns BIG EAST Accolades

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior forward Fantasia Goodwin was named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll after averaging 18.3 points and 9.7 rebounds in three outings this past week. Goodwin helped lead the Orange to three victories, including the Taco Bell Warhawk Classic title.
The Hastings, N.Y. native, registered a career-high 25 points, including 16 second half points, and added 13 rebounds in SU's 75-26 victory at Colgate on Wednesday, Nov. 28. She contributed 17 points by shooting 6-for-8 from the floor during the Oranges 88-67 win against Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, Dec. 1. With the win, SU advanced to play the host team, Louisiana-Monroe, in the championship game. In that contest, the senior registered her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 boards to help the Orange prevail, 69-56.
This season Goodwin has scored 10 or more points in five of six games, including all three this past week. She leads the team with 14.5 points and 9.5 boards a game.
The Orange hosts Penn State in the Dome-opener on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
