
Orange Medical Staff To Hold Sports Medicine Symposium May 5

Syracuse University Athletics and Crouse Hospital will host Getting Back in the Game!, a sports medicince symposium, on Saturday, May 5, from 8:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. in Manley Field House. Syracuse University doctors and athletic trainers and Crouse Hospital physicians will present the conference covering the latest in treatmens for sports injuries in professionals, student-athletes and "weekend warriors." Local physicians, physical therapists, nurses and physician assistants are invited to attend the half day event.
Syracuse team physician Dr. Irving Raphael, Assistant Athletics Director of Sports Medicine Tim Neal, Head Athletic Trainer Brad Pike, and Associate Team Physician Dr. Jim Tucker will make presentations and Orange football coach Greg Robinson open the symposium. Also scheduled to present are Dr. Dan Wnorowski of the Orthopedic Associates of CNY, Dr. Mark Levinsohn of the Crouse Hospital Department of Medical Imaging, and Dr. William Schu of the CNY Surgical Physicians. These experts will speak on topics such as on-field assessment and management of injuries, medical imaging and sports injuries, and head injury treatment.
The fee for the event is $50 for physicians and $25 for all others, and includes a continental breakfast, program materials, refreshments, and a tour of the Manley Field House training facilities. Space is limited to 100 participants. To register by phone, please call 315-470-7746.
