PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Freshman field hockey forward Lelia Sacré has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her two-goal effort in Syracuse’s 5-0 victory against St. Louis on September 22.
Sacré blasted a shot from the top of the circle with 30 seconds remaining in the first half put SU ahead, 2-0, at the break.
The freshman topped-off the SU scoring barrage with just over six minutes remaining, converting an Orange corner. Leigh Fawcett provided the push and senior forward Gloria Nantulya the stick stop for the Orange.
Ten of Sacré’s team-high 12 shots in SU’s two games during the weekend were on cage. The freshman already has three goals in her first four contests.
Sacré joins freshman Maggie Befort, Nantulya and Fawcett who were honored earlier this season.
The Orange returns to action this weekend with a pair of games vs. Georgetown on Friday, September 28 in College Park, Md. at 5 p.m. and at American on Sunday, September 30 at 2 p.m.
