Members of the Syracuse men’s and women’s lacrosse teams were present at the “Gotta Believe” youth clinic at Liverpool High School on Sunday, October 19. The free clinic was held in memory and honor of Dan Spillett, who passed away from cancer in May 2005. It was open to all members of the Liverpool Youth Lacrosse Association.
Syracuse players spent the afternoon focusing on lacrosse fundamentals such as field communication and stick skills. Members of the Syracuse teams coached the younger players through a series of stations to work on different techniques. The afternoon ended with a scrimmage coached by the SU players.
The clinic was organized by former SU lacrosse standout and Liverpool High School graduate Earl Hall. Hall was a midfielder for the Orange from 1986-1989 and a member of the 1988 and 1989 national championship teams.
