SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange tennis and track and field teams were both in action over the weekend. Tennis made the short trip to Buffalo to take on Niagara on Friday, Feb. 8 and Buffalo on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Orange then returned to the Drumlins Tennis Center to host Bucknell on Sunday, Feb. 10. When competition concluded, SU had two more victories in the win column. Track and field competed at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York City and at the Cornell Open in Ithaca, N.Y.
The Tennis team began the weekend with a dominating 7-0 sweep at Niagara, but lost to Buffalo, 6-1. Returning to Syracuse, the team rallied and defeated Bucknell 6-1. Freshman Simone Kalhorn posted a singles record of 3-0 during the three-day outings and tallied two doubles wins with partner and classmate Christina Tan. Syracuse is undefeated (3-0) at home this season and are 4-3 overall.

Sophomore Maegan Krifchin highlighted the Orange's competition at the 8th Annual New Balance Collegiate Invitational when she placed third in the 1,000m run with a BIG EAST and ECAC-qualifying time of 2:54.79. Senior Roman Sosa posted a 12th-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a BIG EAST and IC4A-qualify time of 7.95 seconds. In Ithaca, N.Y. at the Cornell Open, junior Stacie Boyle and freshman Catherine DeSarle registered two first-place finishes in the 500 m dash and the 3,000m run, respectively. Boyle ran the 500m dash in a season-best time of 1:20.25, while DeSarle ran the 3,000m in 10:14.01. Sophomore Jon Buice qualified for the BIG EAST Championship with a fourth-place time of 8.42 seconds in the 60m hurdles.
