The women's lacrosse team highlighted a weekend events for the Orange with a 13-11 win that put the team into the NCAA Semifinal game. Head coach Gary Gaits' squad will be making its first appearance during the final weekend. As the laxers celebrated, both the men and women's rowing teams were on the water at the Eastern Sprints on Sunday and the track and field team competed all weekend long at the ECAC/IC4A Championships.
In front of 1,037 fans in the Carrier Dome, the women's lacrosse team advanced to the NCAA Championship semifinal game with a 13-11 victory against North Carolina on Saturday. Syracuse will be making its first trip to the final four and will try and extend its winning streak, which currently stands at 11 games.
Junior Katie Rowan led the charge with six points on two goals and four assists, while sophomore Christina Dove had five points on three goals and two assists. Junior Megan Mosenson tallied a hat trick. In her second post-season start, freshman Liz Hogan made seven saves, caused two turnovers and picked up four ground balls to go along with her first career assist.

The Orange boats were in the water at the 2008 Eastern Springs on Sunday. Syracuse’s varsity eight finished fourth in the petite final and SU won the second varsity eight petite final. The Orange freshman eight reached the grand final and came in sixth place.
The Orange freshman eight qualified for the grand final after a second-place finish in its heat. During the grand final, SU posted a time of 6:01.551, only second behind first-place finisher Harvard's 5:58.424.

The women's rowing squad's second varsity four placed third in the grand final with a time of 7:38.061 at the Eastern Springs on Sunday. SU's varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four boats all qualified for the petite final.

The varsity eight boat placed fourth in the petite final, one spot up from last season, recording a time of 6:42.027. The second varsity eight also played fourth in the petite final with a time of 7:02.317.

Track and Field
The Orange competed at the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Princeton's William Weaver Stadium during the weekend. The men finished fourth out of 49 teams with 42 points. The Orange women placed seventh in a field of 47 squads.

Senior Kyle Heath highlighted the Orange efforts on Friday at the ECAC/IC4A Championships with a first-place time of 8:50.82 in the 3000m steeplechase. Heath paced the Syracuse men to a second-place standing and 18 points following day one, while the SU women rank 12th with four points.
During day two, graduate Aulton Kohn, senior Jillian Drouin and junior Bernard Bush posted NCAA Regional-qualifying marks for the first time during the outdoor season in the 200m dash, 100m hurdles and long jump, respectively. Kohn (21.16) and Drouin (13.87) will compete in Sunday’s final heat, while Bush placed third overall with a leap of 7.40m.
Senior Ramon Sosa captured his second 110m hurdles crown in as many years on the final day of competition.
