Perkins Set to Join Orange Women's Lacrosse Program

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Nicole Perkins, a senior captain for the West Genesee High School state champions, will join the Syracuse women’s lacrosse program this fall, head coach Gary Gait announced on Thursday. Perkins helped West Genesee to a perfect 24-0 record this season and its second straight state title.
Perkins was a three-year starter at West Genesee, which ended the 2008 campaign on a 48-game winning streak. She was a member of the All-CNY Second Team in 2007 and was a second-team all-league pick in 2006 and 2007. In addition, Perkins played on the Wildcats’ soccer team as a sophomore and junior, helping West Genesee to the 2006 Section 3 championship.
The Syracuse women’s lacrosse team finished the 2008 season with an 18-3 record and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Championship for the first time in school history. The Orange led the nation in scoring and set NCAA marks for most points and goals in a season.
