Susek Captures Gold and Farquhar Wins Bronze

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse University incoming freshman Heather Susek and current assistant coach Lynn Farquhar both took home hardware from the 2008 National Futures Championship in Virginia Beach, Va. Susek’s Scranton team won the gold medal in the U19 Division, while Farquhar helped coach the Syracuse squad to the bronze medal in the same division.
Susek was selected for the Junior National Camp where she will vie for a spot on the U.S. U21 Team.
Farquhar helped the Syracuse team make history as its medal marked the first time a New York Regional Team medaled at the National Futures Championship.
Scranton defeated Syracuse, 7-1, on its way to the goal medal.
