Moore Receives 25-Year Award From CoSIDA

SYRACUSE, NY- Pete Moore, Athletic Communications Director at Syracuse University, received a 25-Year Award from CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors Association) at the annual convention in Tampa, Fla. on July 2, 2008. CoSIDA recognizes its members who have completed 25 years of full-time employment in the profession.
Moore joined Syracuse University in 1998 when he was hired as an assistant director of athletic communications. Three years later he was promoted to associate director of athletic communications and just last year he was named Athletic Communications Director. Moore is the primary media contact for the men’s basketball program, assists with the football program, and supervises interns and student volunteers in the athletic communications office.
Moore started his professional career as a sports information director at Ashland College in 1982. After a one year stay, he embarked on a three year stint at Kansas Newman College. In 1986, he was named Director of Sports Information at Ithaca College and began a 12 year tenure.
A member of the CoSIDA Board of Directors for 11 years, Moore was CoSIDA President in 2001-2002. He was inducted into the CoSIDA Hall of Fame in 1998 and earned the association’s Warren Berg Award one year later.
