SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's ice hockey team squares off against Robert Morris for the final showdown between the two schools of the regular season on Saturday, January 10 at the Tennity Ice Pavilion. Robert Morris has emerged victorious in the first three decisions, but the Orange's late goal in the third period of Friday night's bout will hopefully key the Syracuse offense on Saturday afternoon. The Colonials tapped a goal in within the first two minutes of the contest and never let up from that point en route to a 3-1 win.
Freshman defenseman Kelly Dimmen (Colorado Springs, Colo.) secured her second goal of the season, third point overall, with a late goal in the 16 minute mark of the third period. Junior linemate Gabrielle Beaudry (Cortland, N.Y.), a transfer from Boston College, was awarded the assist on the play, marking her first point with the Orange. Freshman forward Jessica Frump (Saugus, Calif.) attained her second assist on the goal, as well, third point on the year.
Following the final regular season showdown with the Colonials, the Orange will take the New York Thruway west to Niagara University, N.Y. to combat the Purple Eagles of Niagara on Saturday, January 17 and Sunday, January 18. Both tilts are slated for 2 pm and will be the first meeting between the two squads.
