SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Sarah Stapp (Seattle, Wash.) is the Syracuse University Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 30, 2009.
Stapp helped the Syracuse women's rowing team win four of their six races at Boston University this past weekend to open the spring season. She was a member of the first place finishing second varsity eight that finished with a time of 7:07.2, more than seven minutes ahead of BU's team.
A four-year member of the rowing team, Stapp is a three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team and has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester. Stapp will graduate with a dual major in psychology and photojournalism.

Freshman Patrick Dupont (Fairport, N.Y.) is the Syracuse University Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 30, 2009.
Dupont joined teammate Tito Medrano at the 2009 USA Cross Country Championship in Derwood, Md. in February competing for a spot on the United States Junior Men's Team. The top six finishers in an 8K race would go on to compete overseas in the 37th IAAF World Cross Country Championship. Dupont and Medrano finished fifth and sixth, respectively in the race to earn them the right to don red, white and blue in Amman, Jordan in March.
On March 28, the pair joined the world's elite at the Al Bisharat Golf Course. Dupont helped guide the U.S. men to a fifth place finish among the 18 countries in attendance. He finished 48th with a time of 25:52 in the 8K race ahead of 69 other runners. Dupont's time was the fourth-best American time.
Dupont is a music composition major in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
