Women’s Rowing Crew of the Week

SYRACUSE – The Syracuse University women's rowing varsity eight crew was named the Crew of the Week by the Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges. The varsity eight captured the Orange Cup for only the sixth time in the 30 year history of the cup and the first time since 2005 with its three-second victory against Northeastern and Pennsylvania. SU finished the 2,000-meter course in 7:03.8. Northeastern was second at 7:06.3 and Pennsylvania was third at 7:08.1.
Syracuse's varsity eight is also ranked seventh in the latest Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges Coaches Poll. SU's second varsity eight is also seventh, while its third varsity four is ranked 11th. Syracuse's novice eight is fifth.
Syracuse remains at home when it hosts Radcliff and Dartmouth next week at the Ten Eyck Boathouse located at Onondaga Lake Outlet in Longbranch Park. The men's crew will also be racing as the Orange play tribute to Anna Goodale '05, Olympic Gold Medalist, on Saturday, April 18 at 11 a.m.
