MacPherson Saluted at Legends Day

In addition, the 2009 Orange men's lacrosse National Championship will be celebrated with the unveiling of the program's 11th championship banner in the Dome. The Orange went 16-2 last season and defeated Cornell, 10-9, at Gillette Stadium in a come-from-behind win in overtime to earn the title.
Carter Approaches 1,000-Yard Milestone
Senior back Delone Carter is 22 yards shy of becoming SU's 29th running back to gain more than 1,000 rushing yards. As a freshman, he rushed for 713 yards on 156 carries, which ranks second in school history for rushing yards by a freshman. He was the first freshman to lead Syracuse in rushing since Joe Morris in 1978.
Williams Climbs SU Record Books
Senior wide receiver Mike Williams needs four yards to become the eighth player in Syracuse history to reach 100 career receptions. His 6.0 receptions per game is tied for 30th in the NCAA Division I rankings. He has made a reception in 22 consecutive games for the Orange, which is fourth-best in Syracuse history. Williams also has 1,446 receiving yards, which ranks 11th on SU's career records list.
Syracuse-Northwestern Series
SU's all-time series versus Northwestern dates back to 1940 and is tied, 4-4. The Orange and Wildcats will face each other for the second consecutive year. The Orange won four of the past five meetings. Last year's match resulted in a 30-10 Wildcat victory. Syracuse's last win was in 1984 when quarterback Todd Norley completed 20-of-38 passes for 173 yards for a 13-12 decision.
Scouting the Wildcats
Northwestern is 2-0 this season after hosting Eastern Michigan last Saturday, when they won, 27-24. Senior quarterback Mike Kafka has completed 29-of-44 for 350 yards this season.
