SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse's regular-season finale against Georgetown on May 1 will be televised live from the Carrier Dome by CBS College Sports. It marks the second consecutive season that CBS College Sports has broadcast an Orange home game.
Last season's meeting between No. 8 Syracuse and No. 6 Georgetown was the longest game in SU history, going four overtimes. The Hoyas converted a free position attempt with 12 seconds remaining in the fourth overtime period to record an 11-10 victory and snap the Orange's 12-game BIG EAST regular-season winning streak, which dated back to the 2007 season.
In 2009, CBS College Sports televised Syracuse's showdown against BIG EAST rival Notre Dame. The Orange led, 12-3, at halftime before the Fighting Irish rallied in the second half, cutting the lead to one with 53 seconds remaining. Syracuse goalkeeper Liz Hogan stopped Shaylyn Blaney's shot with 23 seconds left on the clock to secure the Orange's 14-13 victory.
Syracuse opens the 2010 campaign on Friday, Feb. 19 against Colgate at 4 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
