
Orange Hosts Tribe in Second Round of Legends Classic

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 10/11 Orange puts its three-game winning streak on the line Sunday, November 21 when its hosts William & Mary in the Carrier Dome in the second round of the Legends Classic. The game will tip off at 2 p.m. Syracuse is 3-0 this season, while William & Mary is looking for its first win after opening the season with two road losses.

Fans not in attendance can watch the game live on the BIG EAST Network or listen to the action via the Syracuse ISP Radio Network and its flagship TK99 (99.5 FM). JARDINE LEADS ORANGE TO VICTORY
Junior Scoop Jardine accounted for more than a third of Syracuse's points in its 66-55 victory against Detroit. Jardine scored a career-high 27 points on a personal-best 11 field goals. His four three-point baskets are also a career high, while his five steals tied his single-game high. In addition, Jardine's eight assists were one shy of his career best.
This season, Jardine ranks second on the team in scoring (13.3 ppg.) and leads the squad in assists (20) and steals (7).
A LOOK AT THE ORANGE
Syracuse used another second-half comeback and posted its third consecutive victory in a 66-55 win in its first game of the Legends Classic. The Orange trailed by three at halftime, 28-25, but quickly made up the margin. Scoop Jardine scored five points in the first minute of the second half, and Dion Waiters' three-pointer at the 16:36 mark gave Syracuse the lead for good. The Orange led by as many as 14 before recording the 11-point victory.
Jardine led all scorers with a career-high 27 points. He also dished out eight assists and recorded five steals. Senior Rick Jackson tallied 10 points and pulled down a career-best 22 rebounds for his ninth career double-double. His 22 rebounds tie him for ninth on Syracuse's single-game record list. Jackson leads the Orange in scoring (13.7 ppg.) and rebounds (14.0 rpg.) this season.
SCOUTING WILLIAM & MARY
Sunday's game is the third of the season for William & Mary. The Tribe opened its regular-season schedule with setbacks on the road to Virginia and Richmond. This three-game stretch marks the longest road trip for the team this season.
Senior Marcus Kitts currently leads William & Mary in scoring (13.0 points per game) and rebounding (7.5 rebounds per game). The Tribe's leading returning scorer from last season, junior Quinn McDowell, ranks second in scoring with 11.5 points per game.
This season, the Tribe was picked to finish eighth in the Colonial Athletic Association in the preseason coaches' poll. McDowell was selected to the Preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association Second Team. William & Mary returns eight letterwinners and two starters from last year's team that qualified for the National Invitational Tournament and had an overall record of 22-11.
Tony Shaver enters his eighth season as the head coach at William & Mary and his 25th year overall. He has an all-time record of 445-247 (.643). Last season, Shaver was named Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year. Prior to coming to William & Mary, he was the head coach at Hamden-Sydney College.
