SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's lacrosse program has reached out to assist those who are less fortunate during this holiday season. Head coach Gary Gait, the coaching staff and players adopted a local family through the Elmcrest Children's Center. They provided gifts and household items for a family whose circumstances would have made a special holiday celebration difficult or impossible.
It is one of several community service projects the women's lacrosse team takes part in each year. The coaches and team members also visit local hospitals and conduct youth clinics. The Orange was recognized with the 'Cuse Cares Award for community service in 2008.
