After winning its first two games of the 2010 season in convincing fashion, Syracuse moved up one spot in the Inside Lacrosse media poll. The Orange is ranked No. 6 this week, receiving 178 votes.

In addition, Syracuse solidified its No. 6 ranking in the IWLCA coaches poll. The Orange, which was also ranked sixth in the preseason poll, earned 293 votes this week, increasing it vote total by seven. The first nine spots remained unchanged in the coaches poll. Five-time defending national champion Northwestern continues to hold the top spot, earning all 20 first-place votes. Maryland is ranked second, followed by Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Duke.

Four of the Orange's next five opponents are ranked in the top 20, including No. 12/13 Virginia. Syracuse travels to Charlottesville for its first road game of the season on Saturday when it takes on the Cavaliers at noon. The game will be broadcast live on WJPZ 89.1FM in the Syracuse area and on Orange All Access on SUathletics.com.
