No. 6 SU Goes for Third Straight Win at No. 12/13 Virginia

No. 6 Syracuse goes for its third consecutive win to start the season when it plays at No. 12/13 Virginia at noon on Saturday in Charlottesville, Va. The game is Syracuse's first road contest of the season after opening the year with a pair of victories in the Carrier Dome. Virginia enters Saturday's game with a 1-1 record.
Fans in the Syracuse area can listen to the broadcast of the game on WJPZ 89.1FM. The game will also be broadcast live on Orange All Access on SUathletics.com. Subscriptions to Orange All Access are available for daily, monthly and yearly rates.
THE SERIES
Saturday's game will mark the 12th meeting between the two schools. The Cavaliers own an 8-3 advantage in the series. The Orange's last win came in the season opener of the 2004 campaign – a 14-13 win in Charlottesville.
ORANGE EARN RECOGNITION
Three Syracuse players were honored for their performances in Syracuse's first two games of the season. Senior Christina Dove earned the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while senior Eileen Finn was named the Defensive Player of the Week. Freshman Michelle Tumolo is womenslax.com's Rookie of the Week, and Dove is WomensLacrosse.com's Offensive Player of the Week.
ROGERS MOVES INTO TOP FIVE
Senior Lindsay Rogers recorded three draw controls against Stanford, helping the Orange win 20-of-25 draws. She now has 113 draw controls in her career, which ranks fifth on Syracuse's career leader list. Rogers needs three draw controls to move past Bridget Looney (2005-09) for fourth place. Last season Rogers set the single-season school record with 56 draw controls.
