
Men’s Crew Reaches New Heights

SYRACUSE – The Syracuse University men's rowing team achieved its highest ranking to date among varsity eight crews coast-to-coast, according to this year's first USRowing Men's Varsity Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll. The Orange is ranked fifth after a very strong showing at the San Diego Crew Classic last weekend.
Syracuse has been ranked in the top 13 since 2007 and peaked at No. 8 on May 9, 2007 and May 6, 2009.
Most recently, Syracuse played third in the final of the Men's Collegiate Varsity Invitational Copley Cup at Crown Point Shores on Mission Bay in San Diego, Calif. No. 1 Cal won the race and No. Brown finished second. The Orange finished ahead of No. 3 Stanford, No. 8 Northeastern and No. 9 Boston.
SU is next in action on Saturday, April 17 when it battles Navy and Cornell for the Goes Trophy in Annapolis, Md. The Orange has won three of the last four Goes Trophies, but Cornell won last season's race.
SU Men's Crew: The men's crew team is ranked fifth in the USRowing men's varsity eight poll. It marks SU's highest ranking in program history.
