
Varsity Eight to Race at the Head of the Charles Sunday

The Syracuse University men's rowing varsity eight will take to the Charles River on Sunday, Oct. 19, as they compete in the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Mass. The Orange will race in the Men's Championship Eight event with a start time of 3:20 p.m., navigating the iconic three-mile course that winds through the heart of Boston and Cambridge.
Syracuse will field a lineup featuring Alex Dawallu in the bow seat, followed by Luke Dunleavy, Mack Carr, Benjamin Campbell-Reide, Niki Strauss, Nick Bryan, Beck Honebein, and Cole Nordby in the stroke seat with Sam Fernandez as coxswain.
The Head of the Charles Regatta is the world's largest two-day rowing event, attracting more than 11,000 athletes from around the globe. The Men's Championship Eight is one of the regatta's premier events, featuring top collegiate and club programs competing against the scenic backdrop of the Charles River. The Orange finished second overall and won as the top collegiate crew in the event in 2022.Â
