SYRACUSE – Incoming freshman on the women's rowing team Maggie McCrudden won a gold medal at the 2010 Scholastic National Rowing Championship on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. McCrudden and her partner finished with a time of 6:24.9, 1.5 seconds faster than the rest of the field.
The Ridgewood High School standout is now a two-time national champion, also winning the junior varsity double at the 2009 Scholastic National Championship. She attended the U.S. Rowing Junior National Team Development Camps in 2007 and 2008. McCrudden also played basketball throughout high school.
