PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse freshman Katie Webster has been named to the BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Honor Roll for her performance against Virginia. Webster had a role in eight of the Orange's 11 goals and posted season highs in points, goals and assists against the Cavaliers. The weekly honor is the first of Webster's career.
Webster scored Syracuse's final four goals of the game on her way to a team-best six for the day. She also recorded the first two assists of her career. Webster's eight points are the highest single-game total for a freshman since current Orange sophomore Michelle Tumolo registered seven points in the 2010 season opener against Colgate.
This season, Webster is the Orange's leading scorer with 11 points, which rank eighth in the BIG EAST. She also leads the team with nine goals to go along with two assists.
Webster and the Orange will be back in action on Saturday, March 12 when they face No. 1 Maryland in College Park, Md.
