The Syracuse University women's rowing team opens the 2011-12 season at the Head of the Genesee on the Genesee Waterways Center in Rochester, N.Y. on Saturday, October 15, announced second-year head coach Justin Moore.
Last year, the Orange varsity eight competed in the Head of the Genesee for only the second time since 2008, finishing fourth place with a time of 33:06.
Throughout the fall season, the Orange will also compete in the Foot of the Charles held Saturday, November 12 in Boston, Mass. as well as host the Syracuse Invitational on Saturday, November 5 at the James A. Ten Eyck Memorial Boathouse.
In the spring, the Orange will host Cornell and Boston on Saturday, March 31 and Northeastern and Pennsylvania on Saturday April 7. The spring season is scheduled to wrap up with the Charles River Challenge held April 14-15 in Boston, Mass., before the BIG EAST Double Dual and the BIG EAST Championship.
