Dowd to Speak at U.S. National Convention

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Assistant women's lacrosse coach Katrina Dowd has been slated to speak at the 2012 U.S. National Lacrosse Convention presented by Champion from January 13 -15 in Philadelphia, Pa. Dowd will present the sticks skills session.
Dowd is the most recent addition to the program's coaching staff. She joined head coach Gary Gait in September after a brief coaching stint at the University of Denver and an illustrious playing career at Northwestern. As a Wildcat, she helped the Wildcats to three consecutive national championships from 2007-10. Dowd is the NCAA Tournament career leader in goals (45) and ranks fourth in points (52). In addition, she has been a member of the U.S. National Team since 2008.
The three-day conference is the “unofficial start of the lacrosse season” and is the sport's largest educational event, featuring over 5,000 lacrosse coaches, officials, program administrators and fans each year.
Dowd and the Orange begin the 2012 season on Tuesday, February 21 when they host Boston College at 4 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
