Nick Resavy of men's basketball and Elashier Hall of women's basketball are the Syracuse University Scholar Athletes of the Week for January 9, 2012.
Resavy, a senior from West Milford, N.J., is majoring in Sport Management. He has been named to the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll in each of the past four semesters, and was also named to the 2010-11 BIG EAST All-Academic Team. Resavy has appeared in nine games this season for the Orange.
Hall is a junior from Washington, D.C. majoring in accounting. She was named to the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll following the 2011 Spring semester as well as the 2010-11 BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
Hall has started all 17 games for the Orange this season, and leads the team with 53 assists. Her 9.1 points per game is fourth on the team, and she is tied with Carmen Tyson-Thomas for the team-lead in minutes per game (30.2).
The men's basketball team will be back in action at Villanova on Wednesday before returning to the Carrier Dome on Saturday to host Providence at 6:00 p.m. The women's team will battle St. John's at the Dome on Wednesday night (7:00 p.m.).
