SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse women's basketball team (15-10, 4-7 BIG EAST) hits the road this weekend to face No. 20/17 Louisville (17-7, 6-5 BIG EAST) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center.
• Both teams are coming off home losses to top-3 ranked teams on Tuesday. The Orange fell to No. 2 Notre Dame, 74-55, while the Cardinals lost to No. 3 Connecticut, 56-46.
GAME COVERAGE
• The contest can be heard live on SU's flagship station ESPN 97.7 FM/1200 AM and on Orange All-Access at SUathletics.com with Brian Higgins '04 on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on Syracuse's student station, WJPZ 89.1 FM. Live statistics are also available on SUathletics.com.

PLAY 4KAY GAME
• Saturday is Louisville's Play 4Kay game, a program initiated by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association in 2007 to raise breast cancer awareness across campuses, in communities and beyond. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is the official charity of the initiative.
• Syracuse's Play 4Kay game will be vs. Marquette on Feb. 18. All fans are encouraged to join the SU players, coaches and staff in wearing pink to the Carrier Dome that day in support of breat cancer awareness.
SERIES HISTORY
• This will be the ninth meeting all-time between Syracuse and Louisville with the series currently tied, 4-4. The Orange has won the last two seasons' meetings.
• Quentin Hillsman is 3-2 against the Cardinals.
• The Orange won last season's matchup, 53-45, at the Carrier Dome. Erica Morrow scored 17 points , while Kayla Alexander added 12. SU used a 51-33 rebounding edge to outscore Louisville, 21-7, in second-chance points. Tia Gibbs led Louisville with 16 points.
• Two seasons ago, on Jan. 23, 2010, Syracuse defeated U of L, 64-58 in the last times the teams played in Louisville. Morrow led the way that day, scoring 23 points on 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range. Nicole Michael added 15. Becky Burke led the Cardinals with 24 points.
• The teams first met in 1986-87 and did not play again until the Cardinals joined the BIG EAST in 2005-06.
SCOUTING LOUISVILLE
• Louisville enters the contest with a 17-7 overall record and 6-5 mark in the BIG EAST. It is ranked No. 20 in this week's AP poll and No. 17 in the coaches poll.
• Louisville has lost three-straight games after winning three in a row. It most recently lost at home to No. 3 UConn, 56-46, after falling at DePaul (86-61) on Jan. 31 and at West Virginia (66-50) on Feb. 4.
• Prior to those losses, the Cardinals ran off wins vs. Providence (64-48), at Georgetown (64-61), and vs. Villanova (62-58).
• Shoni Schimmel leads the Cardinals in scoring at 14.0 points per game and is the leading playmaker at 4.3 assists per game.
• Becky Burke is the top outside shooting threat with 54 3s in 146 attempts (37 percent). She averages 10.7 points per game.
• The Cardinals boast the third-highest home attendance in the country this season, averaging 9,593, behind only Tennessee (14,125) and Iowa State (9,789) and ahead of Notre Dame (8,780) and Connecticut (8,738).
• Jeff Walz (Northern Kentucky '95) is in his fifth season as head coach. He has taken the Cardinals to three Sweet Sixteens and one Final Four.
LAST TIME OUT
• Facing an 18-point deficit at halftime, the Syracuse would cut No. 2/2 Notre Dame's (24-1, 11-0) lead to as little as 10 before the Fighting Irish used a 13-4 run midway through the second half to pull away with a 74-55 win on Tuesday night in the Carrier Dome.
• Senior Iasia Hemingway led the Orange with 15 points.
• In the second half, SU had runs of 11-0 and 7-0. The Orange cut the deficit to 10, 49-39, with 11:07 to go.
• Notre Dame, which shot 42.6 percent (29-of-68) from the floor, was led by Devereaux Peters' 21 points and 16 rebounds. Kayla McBride contributed 19 points.
• Both teams were plagued by poor shooting from the floor to start the game (SU: 2-of-11; Notre Dame: 3-of-11) with Notre Dame leading 6-4 through four and a half minutes of play.

HEMINGWAY HONORED BY CONFERENCE
• After she scored 24 points in each of Syracuse's wins last week, senior forward Iasia Hemingway was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday.
• On Tuesday against the Friars, Hemingway shot 69.2 percent from the floor (9-of-13) in addition to grabbing four rebounds and dishing out three assists. The Newark, N.J. native followed that up with a game-high 24 points to lead all scorers on 9-of-14 shooting and added five assists and five rebounds.
• It was Hemingway's first BIG EAST Player of the Week award, but the senior has been honored by the conference two other times this season. She was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Jan. 2 and Jan. 9.
DOMINATING THE GLASS
• Dominant rebounding has become the norm for the Orange in recent years. As of the last NCAA stats update on Monday, Syracuse was third in the NCAA in rebounding, averaging 47.7 per game and ranked seventh in margin at +11.7 per game.
• In the BIG EAST, SU leads the conference in rebounds per game (47.3), offensive rebounds (21.2) and is third in rebounding margin (+10.8).
• SU has four of the top 20 rebounders in the league (9. Carmen Tyson-Thomas, 7.6; 10. Kayla Alexander, 7.2; 15. Iasia Hemingway, 6.5; and 17. Shakeya Leary, 6.4.
• Syracuse led the NCAA in rebounding margin last season at +13.4 per game. SU outrebounded 31 of its 35 opponents.
STRONG AT THE STRIPE
• An aggressive, attacking style of offense results in the Orange ranking second in the NCAA (as of Monday) in free throws made (436) and fourth in free throws attempted (572).
• Syracuse leads the BIG EAST in free throw shooting percentage at .766.
• Carmen Tyson-Thomas leads the Orange with a .889 mark from the free throw line this season.
• The Orange set a BIG EAST record for most free throws made without in a miss in a game at Providence (1/31) when it went 23-of-23.
• On Jan. 7 at Pitt, The Orange went 34-of-38 (.895) at the line, including Iasia Hemingway setting a school record with 15 free throws in 16 attempts.
TWO McDONALD'S ALl-AMERICANS
• Syracuse NLI signees Brianna Butler (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Brittney Sykes (Newark, N.J.) were two of 24 high school seniors named 2012 McDonald's All-Americans on Thursday.
• They are the third and fourth SU signees to have garnered the honor, and the first time the Orange has had multiple McDonald's All-Americans in the same class.
• Erica Morrow (2007) and Juanita Ward (2005) are the only other Syracuse players to be named McDonald's All-Americans.
• Connecticut (3), Baylor (2), Duke (2), Notre Dame (2) and Texas A&M (2) were the only other programs with multiple signees named to the teams.
