CLEARWATER, Fla. – Behind 5 RBIs from senior Lacy Kohl, the Syracuse softball team (12-8) defeated Virginia Tech (15-10), 5-0, in its final game at the USF Under Armour Invite on Sunday, March 11. Kohl matched her career-best in RBIs, collecting the majority of them on her first inning-grand slam.
Fellow senior Jenna Caira threw a complete game shutout for her third win of the weekend and ninth of the season. Caira allowed three hits and struck out five batters over seven innings. Shirley Daniels, Kohl, Morgan Nandin, and Stephanie Watts all recorded two hits, as well.
