Tumolo Earns Player of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Michelle Tumolo has been named the BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the first in her career for her performance in the Orange's victory against No. 3 Maryland. In addition, Tumolo was named WomensLax.com's Player of the Week.
Tumolo led Syracuse with five points against Maryland on three goals and two assists. She had a goal and an assist during the Orange's 5-0 scoring run in the first half that gave SU a 5-2 halftime lead. Tumolo scored a pair of goals in the second half, helping the Orange hold off the Terrapins comeback attempt. Syracuse's win snapped an 11-game losing streak to Maryland and ended the Terps' 36-game home winning streak, which was the fifth-longest in any sport in the NCAA.
This season, Tumolo leads the Orange in scoring with 19 points. She has climbed to seventh place on Syracuse's all-time scoring list with 156 career points.
The No. 6/4 Orange is back in action on Tuesday, March 13 when it hosts Towson in the Carrier Dome at 4 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
