With one week remaining until the 2012 NCAA Championship, the Syracuse track & field teams will venture back to the Armory in New York City for the Columbia Last Chance meet as SU student-athletes will be looking to qualify for next weekend's national championship.
One member of the team who has already punched his ticket to Nampa, Idaho is senior Jarret Eaton, owner of the nation's fastest 60-meter hurdle time this season. Eaton is coming off a BIG EAST Championship winning performance in the same event two weeks ago.
Teammate Amadou Gueye qualified for the IC4A Championships earlier this season, but instead will look to advance to the NCAA meet when he and senior Flings Owusu-Agyapong head to Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va. for the Virginia Tech Final Qualifier. Gueye took fifth place in the 60-meter hurdles at the BIG EAST Championship with a time of 8.01 seconds.
Owusu-Agyapong's season best time of 7.34 seconds in the 60-meter dash is tied for the 15th best in the country, and is on the cusp of reaching an automatic qualifying time of 7.23 seconds.
