Murray Earns Player of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse sophomore Alyssa Murray has been named the BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Orange to a pair of wins last week. It is the first player of the week honor of her career.
Murray recorded a team-high 12 points on eight goals and four assists in the two games. She had five points (two goals, three assists) in Syracuse's win against then No. 9/6 Notre Dame. Murray registered a goal and an assist during SU's 5-1 scoring run that helped the Orange to a 9-4 halftime lead.
Against Rutgers, Murray finished with a game-high seven points on six goals and an assist in Syracuse's 15-10 victory. With the SU leading by one, She netted back-to-back goals to spark a 4-0 scoring run that extended the Orange's lead to 12-7. After the Scarlet Knights cut the lead to four, Murray scored three straight goals to give Syracuse its largest lead of the game. She leads the team in points (48) and goals (33) this season.
No. 2/2 Syracuse tries to remain unbeaten in BIG EAST play when it hosts No. 14/11 Georgetown on Saturday, April 14 in the Carrier Dome at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
