Cosmann And Block: Scholar Athletes

Matt Cosmann from the men's crew team and Becca Block from the women's lacrosse team are the Syracuse University Scholar Athletes of the Week for May 21, 2012.
Cosmann (Buffalo, N.Y.) is a junior majoring in anthropology and psychology. He has been named to the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll two times in his career.
Cosmann has served as the coxswain for the Second Varsity Eight this season for the Orange, and led the boat to a first place finish in the Petite Final at the Eastern Sprints.
Block (Strathan, N.H.) is a junior majoring in health and exercise science. She has been named to the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll three times, and was also named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team twice in her career.
Block has started in all 21 games for SU this season, tallying eight goals and five assists to go along with 31 ground balls and 44 draw controls.
The men's crew team will be back in action on May 31-June 2 for the IRA Regatta in Camden, N.J. while the women's lacrosse team travels to Stony Brook, N.Y. for the 2012 Final Four, and will face top-seeded Florida on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
