Sophomore Alyssa Murray and junior Michelle Tumolo are the top scoring duo in the nation. The pair has amassed 175 points through 18 games, which is seven points more than any other combination in the country.
This season, Murray and Tumolo have led the Orange's offense, which ranks seventh in the nation. Murray ranks fourth on Syracuse's single-season record list with 92 points, while Tumolo is eighth with 83 points on the season. Murray's 63 goals are the fourth-highest single-season total in school history, and Tumolo ranks fourth on the single-season school record for assists with 40.
Murray and Tumolo are well ahead of the second-highest scoring duo of Maryland's Alex Aust and Katie Schwarzmann. The Terrapins' pair has a combined 168 points.
Syracuse's duo has also set single-game career highs this season. Murray scored a personal-best eight goals and 10 points against Boston College in the season opener. Tumolo tied her career high of five goals against Towson and recorded a personal-best eight points twice this season.
Murray and Tumolo will lead Syracuse in its NCAA Tournament first-round matchup against Dartmouth on Sunday, May 13 at 4 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under and for Syracuse and Dartmouth students with a valid ID.
